Bollywood movies always inspire us in one or the other way, be it fashion, traveling or weddings. Back in 90’s, almost every other Bollywood movie used to have a wedding scene, lot of music, dance, glamorous clothes and what not. Right from the pre-wedding ceremonies to the post-wedding games, Bollywood weddings had really set the trend. So, here are some Bollywood movies that have given us some major wedding goals.
This Sooraj Barjatya film was nothing less than a wedding epic. From Salman Khan’s and Madhuri Dixit’s chemistry to the clothes they wore, everything was so perfect. The three-piece suit that Salman wore in the film has definitely set the trend and of course Madhuri’s backless cholis and that saree which she beautifully carried in “Didi Tera Dewar Diwana”, was “must” to have in a to-be wed’s wardrobe. Songs of this film are never going to be out the trend and therefore weddings are really incomplete without these songs.
This is again a Sooraj Barjatya’s creation, starring Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao. This film is a journey from engagement to marriage, the name itself says it all. Vivah tells us that arranged marriage is not a very bad idea and gives major couple goals.
DDLJ will always be the most romantic film in the history of Bollywood. Thanks to Aditya Chopra! Even now, every Indian couple at least once tries to be as romantic as Raj and Simran were in the film. Many couples still get their pre-wedding shoots done in green yellow mustard fields with “Tujhko Dekha To Ye Jana Sanam” playing in the background. And of course the typical NRI Punjabi wedding from where “Mehendi Laga Kar Rakhna” came into existence and is still the most popular wedding song.
Oh, Lord! Another film by Sooraj Barjatya which has set some very serious wedding trends, Barjatya is definitely the wedding guru. From the Antakshari to the celebration of love, this film has it all. Not one, not two, not three, four couples got married in this film, it’s the biggest hit of that time. From the beautiful dresses the actors wore to the baaraat song “Chote Chote Bhaiyo Ke Bhaiya”, this film has given a lot to the Indian wedding culture.
This film by Ashutosh Gowariker is a period film. This film really raised the business of the Indian jewellers, despite of the cost, Kundan and Jadao work were highly in demand after this film. After seeing Hritik Roshan, even men got inspired to wear that classy jewellery. It really inspires those couples who want a royal wedding.
