Arranged marriages have their own beauty, when two strangers meet and decide to spend their entire life together.
You fall in love and then get married but in arranged marriages you get married first and then gradually fall in love and that’s the Beauty.
Here’s the story of Jessica & Pranav who tied knot in December 2016 and after listening to the bride, it seems like they just got married yesterday.
I have been married since December2016 and since then the roller coaster ride has got it’s highs and lows.
Pranav is a Chartered Accountant and I freelance in Social Media Marketing and Graphic Design.
Since my dad is also a Chartered Accountant, he found Pranav through some common contact, arranged our meeting and rest is all history. We got married on 14 December, 2016 and it was a three day event.
Being the bride, initially I was really excited for my wedding but gradually when the wedding date was coming close, there were butterflies in my stomach because I was starting a new life, was about to leave my house where I grew up but the excitement of being with my man for rest of life was way too much. I happy, nervous, excited, I was totally enjoying this emotional ride.
But before anything else, the shopping fever started months before the BIG day. I believe that girls go insane while shopping… From selecting what type of wedding outfits am I going to wear, what colour is in trend this season, how it will look on me, what hair style I will get done, the makeup, the Mehndi, my footwear and many such things! Phew, we have got the energy to deal with all this… but Finally the day came which is still the most special day of my life.
The wedding functions started 3 days prior to the wedding in Surat,Gujarat. I picked up all my wedding dresses from a local shop in Surat.
I don’t like heavy gold Jewellery and that’s why I chose to keep my entire look subtle, simple and comfortable for all my functions.
My wedding was moreover a traditional one but who said traditional weddings can’t be fun. My family and our guests had immense fun in every ceremony, we all danced a lot at Sangeet, where I danced on the tunes of Kaun Tujhe from Dhoni mixed with Manwa Lage from Happy new Year. And.. Have you ever been to any Gujarati wedding and not seen garba? That’s the ritual.
We were all happy, I was happiest and so was Pranav.
